Rose hydrosol is the aromatic product collected during the steam distillation of fresh rose petals (such as Rosa damascena). Unlike standard rose water—which is often just water mixed with rose oil or extracts—a true hydrosol contains micro-droplets of essential oils and beneficial water-soluble plant compounds.

Skin Benefits

• Deep Hydration: Acts as a natural humectant that attracts and retains moisture in the skin, softening dry or dehydrated complexions.

• pH Balancing: Features a naturally acidic pH (around 4.0 to 4.5) that matches the skin's acid mantle, helping to protect against irritation and environmental stress.

• Soothing & Anti-Inflammatory: Calms redness, swelling, and irritation, making it ideal for sensitive, acne-prone, or rosacea-affected skin.

• Antioxidant Protection: Rich in polyphenols, flavonoids, and vitamins that neutralize free radicals and help minimize the appearance of fine lines.

• Enhanced Absorption: Preps the skin and helps facial oils, serums, or moisturizers sink in more effectively.

Emotional & Aromatherapeutic Benefits

• Nervous System Support: Aromatic compounds like geraniol and citronellol engage the brain's limbic system to help relieve stress, lower anxiety, and uplift the mood.

• General Refreshment: Frequently used as a midday facial mist, hair refresher, setting spray, or linen spray. The sultry and luxurious aroma of roses with soft floral notes and a subtle fruitiness.

A true classic! Humanity has been deeply entwined with the rose for millennia, and cultivation is thought to have begun over 5,000 years ago. Roses have long been symbolic of love, nobility, and sacrality. Our organic rose hydrosol has a rich and heady aroma reminiscent of lush blooms opening in the early summer to uplift your senses.

Some of our favorite uses for this luxurious spray are in face masks, as an indulgent body spray, or added to a soothing bath. Rose hydrosol is great for all skin types and is especially favored as a toner by those with sensitive or mature skin.

WHAT IS A HYDROSOL?

Hydrosols, also known as flower waters, are aromatic waters that are produced by distilling fresh leaves, fruits, flowers, and other plant materials. Unlike essential oils, which are highly concentrated, hydrosols have similar properties to essential oils but are much less concentrated. The aromas of hydrosols are usually soft and subtle compared to their essential oil counterparts.

Hydrosols have various applications, such as skin cleansing and reducing inflammation.

The hydrosol comes from the hydro distillation of the rosa damascena.
